Where does the time go????

I cannot believe how busy the last week and half has been. I'm exhausted! I spent the day in Midtown Manhatten in the rain and snow on Saturday. Came home soaking wet and cold but we had a great time. Did my best to help the economy! I had a tiny amount of time on Thursday to make a couple of cards and only now had a chance to post them. The first one is a digi image from Crissy Armstrong available through Squigglefly. I used one of my new larger Martha Stewart border punches which I love. Paper I have been hoarding for awhile finally decided to use it! Second card is a digi from Pink Cat Studio - such a sweet image. Used my rectangle nesties and some paper I forgot I bought! Happy Monday!!!!!!

Happy Thanksgiving

I love Thanksgiving, one of my favorite holiday meals. We are heading to Mark's mom's today so I am not cooking the meal but am making some favorites, corn casserole and broccoli dish, both are Paula Deen recipes that everyone loves. I hope everyone has a great day and we are getting up tomorrow to go shopping! Can't believe I convinced Mark to go...I don't think he understands what he is in for! lol.

I am thankful for my family and friends, the roof over our heads and my crazy, crazy animals. Love to all!

Copic Class

Off to another Copic class at my favorite LSS The Inspiration Station in Stafford. I took one months ago that was taught by one of Copic's certified instructors and while it was a good class it was more an understanding of the markers and not as much coloring. So this time I'm taking Deb's class (owner) and it should be a ton of fun! I made a couple of cards yesterday and will try to post some this afternoon. Happy cloudy Sunday everybody!

Glad it's almost Friday!

The last two weeks have been so busy I don't know where one day ends and the other starts. My daughters dad had major surgery last week and his recovery hasn't gone smoothly so it's been really stressful. So needless to say I haven't had a ton of crafting time which is to bad because it keeps me calm! I did work on an order of cards and this is one of them. Image is Penny Black, colored with pencils, paper is Close To My Heart. Enjoy everybody. I am taking my daughter and her friend to see Miley Cyrus tonight...not sure if that's good or bad lol!

Crazy Chihuahua

Thought I would share a picture of Dominic in his Halloween costume...you know the look on his face is saying "holy cannoli what have they done to me????" Yes he is standing on the counter at the moment that's a toaster oven behind him that is bigger than he is so yes he is still a tiny doggie!

Great Impressions Snowmen

I bought these stamps last year I think and hadn't ever used them - they are from Great Impressions. I used one of my new Martha Stewart punches for the snowflakes - used glitter cardstock. Birthday Chickens

Best birthday image ever!!! I love the Penny Black chickens. I have no idea where the background paper came from lol! I added ribbon and buttons. I have so many buttons and so rarely put them on my cards but this didn't feel like a flower card - I know hard to believe for me but no flowers. This card was colored with pencils and OMS. I was going to add Stickles to the candles and forgot. Well it's Wednesday half the week is over hope it's going good for eveyrbody.

Halloween Mouse

I love Halloween images and this is a great one from Art Gone Wild - they just re-did their website and it's so much easier to get around. They have some super cute images. Paper I had in my stash from a couple of years ago and added some gingham ribbon. Used one of my new border punches. I did this card for the Cute Card Thursday Challenge which was Spook Fest.

Penny Black Challenge

This week was a sketch challenge and you had to include a sentiment which is actually hard for me - I very rarely use sentiments inside or outside of my cards. Cute chick image. I bought a bucket of the shiny inside white flowers at Michael's found them in the wedding isle. They are gorgeous and you know I love my flowers! Image is Penny Black "Spring Chicks". The sentiment I used my Close To My Heart Giggle Lowercase set. Hope everyone has a great Monday!

Fall Pumpkins

I do love fall images....pumpkins espcially although none of the pumpkins I tried to grow went anywhere this year!

I watercolored this card which I don't do that often and forget how much I like to use my water color pencils. Can't tell from the picture but the berries are shiny added crystal lacquer to them. I think this is a Great Impressions stamp. My daughter turns 11 today - feeling old!

Wow where does the time go?

I have had some time to make some cards but I feel like by the time I get out of work, get lunches made, dinner made, house picked up, laundry done, finish yelling at my daughter for whatever the night is over and it's time for bed and I get up the next morning and do it all over again!!!
But here are a few I have manged to get done. This is an older Penny Black image that I just recently got.....colored with pencils, didn't add to much to this no flowers!!!

This is a Stampendous Fluffles stamp - who doesn't love this naughty kitty!! I don't remember the tine of paper but it's really pretty, I picked it up at a stamp store in Marlborough. Added a tree brad, colored with penciles and a little gold ribbon.

Trying to make time...

I'm doing my best to try to make some time to get some cards done...it really does relax me and I so need that right now. Did get the news that Mark will be laid off the end of June....things are really, really, really yucky at work right now. I did go to NYC over the weekend and went to see Ellis Island (which made me cry) and the Statue of Liberty - climbed the stairs - holy cow could I be anymore out of shape!!! Anyhow - made this card with a Dustin Pike digital image so stinking cute although (sorry to those I offend) I am not fond of monkeys they scare me a lil bit! LOL. Enjoy.

Break From Stamping

I haven't made a thing in weeks.......both Mark and I work for the same municipality and it's budget season and well it has not been pretty. We are both union workers and there have rumors of layoffs going round for months. I have been there for much longer so my security is much better but Mark is another story. Hopefully next week we will find out what exactly will happen but I have been so sick with worry that I haven't touched anything. My best bud needed a sympathy card and I did manage to do that but I haven't wanted to do a darn thing. So in case you were wondering that's where I have been - stressed out of my mind!! I know in the end everything will work out but boy oh boy getting there isn't going to be fun. I hope everyone has a wonderful Memorial Day another baseball game today although the forecast is talking about pop up thunderstorms so we will see. Good news is my house is really clean because I can't sit still! Enjoy!

Mother's Day

I hope everyone had a fantastic Mother's Day - the first half of my day was spent freezing at Mark's baseball game!! Here is a pic of my daughter all bundled up!! It's a good thing they won!

Friday Night

I got to make some cards Friday night so I took advantage and made as many as I could!

The monkey and bear are both Dustin Pike images....I also made a "girl" bear card but I loved the color combo of this one.

These two are both High Hopes - the Koala just arrived the other day and this cute little girl was sent to me from Diane (aka djuseless) isn't she adorable? These colors are fantastic. All images were colored with pencils and OMS.

I don't know if you are all familiar with his work (which totally rocks by the way!) but he just started with rubber....he has digital images available on his blog Dustin Pike but now he has stamps available they may be seen at DRS Designs I ordered them all! So much for the May budget and it's only day two. GREAT.

Frogs & Cows

Unfortunately my daughter and I have both been home sick for three days and there wasn't much card creating mostly there was a lot of sniffling, napping and watching really bad horror movies on Netflix...I did manage to get these three done.

This is a Penny Black stamp that I just recently got, the colors are fantastic - I embossed the flowers, this card was colored using pencils and OMS.

I thought I would make a few graduation cards....another new to me Penny Black. Also colored with pencils and OMS.

I didn't originally think that I really liked these new stamps from Stampendous but I was in Inspiration Station in Stafford a couple of weeks ago and Deb had done a few cards and had them at the counter, this was one of them and it was so cute I had to get it! Another super bright color combo. Hope everyone is having a good day. My daughter is back to school tomorrow and back to work for me I'm actually looking forward to it!

Angels Landing

So I was lurking around Splitcoast yesterday and ready a thread about crocheting your own flowers (which I am trying because I also crochet) and I saw this post from "Crafts" and noticed that Judi had a link to her digital images below...so off I went and oh my gosh are these not the stinking cutest things you have seen??? I only hope they do more! I ordered these but haven't played with them yet....Angels Landing check them out.

Finally!

I finally had a moment to not only post some of my cards on Ebay but also put some here and on Splitcoast...
I was in a hedgehog mood last week - this is another fave image might be great for a dad's day card.

I gotta say I was pretty happy with how this card turned out I love this color combo very tropical! Signature flowers of course - the ribbon is some gorgeous velvet ribbon I got at Tinsel Trading in New York City a couple weeks ago.

Another super cute Penny Black....all these cards are colored with pencils using OMS. I've been buying markers (Copics) a few at a time but I always go back to my pencils it's what I started with and is still by far my favorite coloring medium. Plus I'm much better at that than the markers! Although I am trying to work on my watercolor skills. I took a class on Copic's a few weeks ago at the Inspiration Station in Stafford, CT and it did teach me tons but the end result is unfortunately they are pricey for me and it will take me forever to build up my inventory. So for now I get a few each month and keep working with the pencils. Happy Thursday everybody.

Happy Wednesday Happy Administrative Assistant's Day!!

So I'm a secretary most days I love my job so a big giant Happy Administrative Assistant's Day to everyone!! My director brought me a jar of maple syrup from the farm next to him....it's my absolute favorite and every year I hope for another one! So we will probably have pancakes for dinner tonight!! hehe.....once again things have been nutty I can't seem to get ahead this week. I did make some cards and photographed them and was going to upload them today at lunch time but forgot my cord...duh....so it will have to wait until I get home. I hope everyone has a great day it's Wednesday and it's Earth Day!

Soooooo...busy

The past two weeks have been so busy I haven't had a lot of "craft" time which doesn't make me happy! I did get a couple of cards done. I was asked by a co-worker to make invitations for his daughter's graduation party so I'm trying to find time to get going on those. I hope everyone had a great Easter. I had an Easter breakfast which turned out really well and then went for an Easter dinner and my boyfriend's mom's. She basically made a Thanksgiving dinner so it was awesome! Although I think I ate enough on Sunday for a whole week! My daughter brought home the class frogs for school vacation week so I'm trying to make sure we don't kill them - I don't need an entire fifth grade class angry with me! They didn't have names so I named them Fredo and Luigi - they are kinda not cute and they have nails - they scare me a lil bit!! lol

Here is one card I made - hedgie from Penny Black I love the purple/green color combo. I added stickles and glitter. Oh yeah added flowers of course!!

Time Alone.....

I had a good part of Sunday to myself which is really rare so I got to make some cards.....
This one I watercolored...I'm trying to work on my watercolor skills....after I watercolored I used some Twinkling H2O's kind of hard to see in the picture. Punched my own flowers. Image is Penny Black.
I was so happy with this card....new stamp for me from High Hopes. I loved the flower embellishment. Clearly flowers are my favorite embellishment!!!! lol

My Helper.......

This is Carmella - in the midst of my mess - please don't look around at the pic to much we haven't even started to re-do this room!! The color is yucky and I don't have any of my shelves up yet and everything is sorta just all over the place!!

Cute Card Thursday Challenge 54 Citrus Colors

This was an easy challenge for me I love citrus colors and I had just colored the perfect image. This is from Dustin Pike - available as a free download from his blog his artwork is AMAZING and he is super generous. The background paper is from Quick Quotes Paper and I hate to use it because I'm afraid I won't have any left..lol....

I've been trying to get some cards done today as the "old man" (still looking for what to call him still hate boyfriend hehehe) is at a swap meet and my daughter is with her dad. Unfortunately one of my 3 cats wants to spend time with me and keeps walking and sitting all over everything. Also watching the movie Mirrors - s0 far it's good gotta love Keifer. So here is my Citrus Color Challenge. Hope you like it enjoy your Sunday.

High Hopes Surprise

When I received my last High Hopes order included was this stamp! What a nice surprise. I love cows so I actually used this one first before the ones I ordered. I used Flower Soft for the grass - I took a class on this couple weeks ago - it's a fun embellishment - little messy at first but I got the hang of it. Basically you just add some glue where you want it - sprinkle some on pat it down and flick off the excess a lot like Flock. I bought 3 colors just solids they have some really pretty assorted colors. Background paper is something I had - added flowers (big sparkly red flower is Doodlebug I hoard these I love them so much).

Penny Black Bunnies

I borrowed this stamp from Mark's mom - we were together at one of our favorite LSS' and she found it first!! The bunnies are so cute and not just for Easter. I colored this using my Prismas - not sure where the paper is from had it in my stash. Flowers of cours and I added some buttons.
The bunny "paws" (are they paws on bunnies???) are 3-D which to be honest I am not a huge fan of doing I don't have the most patience for cutting but it's a nice effect.
